THE BUILT TO LAST HOMES LEGACY
Shaun Thomson has a passion for creating things with his hands – he always has.
Starting his apprenticeship at 16 years old, he was mentored by a fantastic builder who he is still in contact with today.
Fast forward a couple of decades, Shaun has a wealth of experience having run a team of 20+ employees subcontracting to big building companies completing full house builds.
In 2015, Shaun realised that what he loved most was working closely with clients to transform their existing home into something that better suited their lifestyles and families. That’s when he received his builders license and Built to Last Homes transitioned from carpentry to client builds. A family operation with his wife Sharee, and a small group of trusted employees that share their values.

Sharee and Shaun lead a busy life running a successful building business, raising four children, and maintaining their property where they raise a few sheep, goats, and alpacas! When they get a rare moment to stop, they enjoy the simple things in life such as good food, family, friends, a campfire, or tinkering in the shed.
